' Defendant previously convicted of strangulation/suffocation and assault and battery. A Guatemalan man residing in Framingham has been sentenced in federal court in Boston for illegally reentering the United States after deportation. Carmen Jimenez-Cruz, 42, was sentenced on May 11, 2023 by U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley to one year and one day in prison followed by one year of supervised release. Jimenez-Cruz will be subject to deportation proceedings upon completion of his sentence.
