FRAMINGHAM — The Police Department said it has received a federal grant to provide tracking devices for families with loved ones at risk of going missing. The more than $100,000 grant, from the Bureau of Justice Assistance Kevin and Avonte Program, will allow police to provide SafetyNet Tracking Systems personal locator units to residents, according to Officer Christopher Hendry. The department received a similar grant in 2021, which it used, in part, to purchase a drone to help with tracking. "We have this technology, we're trained to use it and we think it's beneficial," Hendry said.
